The distinctive and stylish hangars have previously featured in a number of high profile film and TV series, including James Bond, Quantum of Solace.

Location

The airport is located to the south west of London offering excellent road and rail connections, not just for the city itself but for onward travel to other destinations within the UK. The postcode for the airfield is GU14 6XA.

Farnborough Air Show

Every two years Farnbrough Airport plays host to one of the world’s largest airshows. The first five days of the show are trade only and are always a highlight of the international aerospace and defense industry calendar. The final two days of the show are open to the public and every year over 120,000 visitors are treated to an exciting display by some of the world’s most modern and exhilarating aircraft.

History

Farnborough was the UK’s first airfield and its history can be traced back to the beginning of the 20th century and establishment of His Majesy’s Balloon factory in 1905. The airfield also saw the first powered flight in Britain a few years later in 1908. Farnborough was owned by the Ministry of Defense through both World Wars and for much of the Cold War. Civilian operations begin in 1989 and in 2003 the MoD moved it’s operations to the nearby Boscombe Down and TAG Farnborough took over and developed the modern facilities now available.

Facilities

The airport is owned and operated by TAG Farnborough. Both the building itself and the handling agents have previously won awards. The airport offers direct ramp access to your aircraft, on site customs and immigration clearance and private lounge and conference facilities.

Getting to London

The airport is situated close to the M3 motorway, offering a convenient driving route into London and the West End. It is only a short 30 minute train ride from the nearby Farnborough station, or short 15 minute helicopter transfers are available to London Battersea Heliport.
